Press Conference to Kick-Off Rock for Recovery on September 11 at the State House

Columbia, SC – September is National Recovery Month and to celebrate its 30th year of observance, LRADAC is bringing together residents in the Midlands with their annual month-long Rock for Recovery campaign. South Carolina’s First Lady Peggy McMaster will stand in support of the observance alongside recovery advocates during the conference which will address the importance of building a recovery supportive community and celebrating that recovery from substance misuse is possible.

The Rock for Recovery press conference will be held in the South Carolina State House Lobby on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. and will last until 10:30 A.M. The conference will recognize the upcoming Rock for Recovery initiatives created to increase community and social awareness, reduce stigma surrounding substance misuse and raise financial aid for individuals and families who cannot afford the cost of treatment.

LRADAC is the designated alcohol abuse and drug abuse authority for Lexington and Richland Counties of South Carolina. The public, not-for-profit agency offers a wide array of prevention, intervention and treatment programs in locations convenient to residents of both counties. The agency has a budget of approximately $10 million and serves more than 5,000 clients per year.
