National Prescription Drug Take Back Sites in Lexington and Richland Counties

Columbia, SC – Saturday, Oct 26th, is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. LRADAC is partnering with Rise Above It: Lexington Two Community Coalition (RAI), Lexington One Community Coalition (LOCC), Columbia Police Department and other local law enforcement agencies to host prescription drug take-back events at locations throughout Lexington and Richland Counties. The purpose of these collection sites is to provide community members with a safe way to dispose of unwanted, unused and expired medications. By doing so, these drugs are kept out of reach for children and will not contaminate the environment.

LRADAC is the designated alcohol abuse and drug abuse authority for Lexington and Richland Counties of South Carolina. The public, not-for-profit agency offers a wide array of prevention, intervention and treatment programs in locations convenient to residents of both counties. The agency has a budget of approximately $10 million and serves more than 5,000 clients per year.
