Rise Above It Community Coalition Hosts Collection Sites for National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

Columbia, SC –Saturday, September 26th, is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.  In partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and local law enforcement, LRADAC’s Rise Above It Lexington Two Community Coalition is hosting collection sites for community members to drop off unused and unwanted prescription drugs.

The purpose of these collection sites is to encourage the community to always dispose of prescription drugs in a safe manner.  By doing so, these drugs are kept out of reach for children and will not contaminate the environment. The Rise Above It Lexington Two Community Coalition’s drop-off events will take place from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the following locations:

  • CVS Pharmacy located at 500 Knox Abbott Drive, Cayce, SC 29033
  • CVS Pharmacy located at 2410 Charleston Highway, Cayce, SC 29033
  • CVS Pharmacy located at 2401 Sunset Blvd, West Columbia, SC 29169
  • BI-LO located at 2349 Augusta Road, West Columbia, SC 29169

LRADAC is the designated alcohol abuse and drug abuse authority for Lexington and Richland Counties of South Carolina. The public, not-for-profit agency offers a wide array of prevention, intervention and treatment programs in locations convenient to residents of both counties. The agency has a budget of approximately $10 million and serves more than 5,000 clients per year.
