Dr. Borucki Certified as a Specialist in Addiction Medicine by the American Board of Preventive Medicine

Columbia, SC – Dr. Robert Borucki was recently certified as a Specialist in Addiction Medicine by the American Board of Preventive Medicine (ABPM). Dr. Borucki currently serves as the LRADAC Detox Medical Director. He also oversees clients receiving Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) to ensure quality of care and assist in their pathways to recovery.

The Addiction Medicine Specialist certification is a subspecialty certification given to physicians who demonstrate the education, experience, knowledge and skills to provide prevention, screening, intervention and treatment for substance use and addiction.

“Dr. Borucki is dedicated to serving individuals and our community by addressing substance use issues.  He truly cares for the individuals we serve and is eager to support their journey towards recovery,” said Jeremy Martin, Vice President of Treatment and Intervention.

Borucki received his MD from Chicago Medical School after graduating with honors from Johns Hopkins University with a BA in Natural Sciences. He moved to South Carolina prior to completing his residency at Richland Memorial Hospital, where he was named Chief Resident.

LRADAC is the designated alcohol abuse and drug abuse authority for Lexington and Richland Counties of South Carolina. The public, not-for-profit agency offers a wide array of prevention, intervention and treatment programs in locations convenient to residents of both counties. The agency has a budget of approximately $10 million and serves more than 5,000 clients per year.
