Objectives

  • Participants will gain a general understanding of systems theory and the implications of working with couples or families.
  • Participants will be able to conceptualize the biological, psychological and social implications of why supporting families in recovery is important.
  • Participants will be introduced to basic interventions of working with family members that supports treatment and recovery.
  • Participants will learn ethical guidelines and practical considerations for including family members in clinical services.
