Volunteer Services

Volunteers are very important to the services provided by LRADAC. Volunteers serve on the agency Board of Directors, various committees and the Speakers' Bureau. They also provide support for staff and assist in the agency's prevention, intervention and treatment programs. Over the years, many agency volunteers have been recognized for their outstanding service to LRADAC and the community. Volunteer opportunities abound in the prevention, intervention, treatment, and administrative areas at LRADAC. Training is provided when applicable.

Each prospective volunteer must submit a written application, sign a confidentiality agreement, and furnish two references. An interview, orientation and placement will follow, with training made available when needed. Drug tests, medical exams, TB tests and background checks may be required for some volunteer positions. These are provided free of charge for volunteers desiring these positions. Liability insurance coverage is provided for active LRADAC volunteers.

All volunteers will be provided with a description of job duties and a list of qualifications required. They should familiarize themselves with the philosophy and services offered by the agency. When necessary, volunteers will be supervised by certified and licensed clinicians.
