Volunteer Opportunities

Internships

Prevention Interns - Internship opportunities in prevention are available for Master's Level students in areas such as School of Public Health. Required supervision provided.

Adult Intensive Outpatient Treatment - Graduate-level interns are needed to assist LRADAC staff with group and individual adult treatment services.

Adolescent Treatment Services - Graduate-level volunteers and interns are needed to assist staff with treatment programs, including Drug Court, the Bridge and Adolescent Intensive Outpatient.

Prevention

Adult Peer Educators
Adult Peer Educators are needed for HIV/AIDS presentations. Educators need to be in recovery or HIV infected or affected. Training is provided.

Peer Educators for Adolescents
Volunteers are needed to serve as educators who are available during weekday hours. Prefer young adults with genuine concern for people in recovery and at risk for HIV. Training is provided.

Girls Grapevine Volunteers
Female volunteers are needed to provide Girls' Grapevine Presentations to fifth-grade girls. Girls' Grapevine curriculum is designed to help elementary school youth make the transition to middle school. Must be available during weekday hours and enjoy working with youth.

Speakers

Speaker/Presenter
Speak to civic, religious, educational, youth or social groups regarding the agency and its activities and concerns. Must be familiar with LRADAC's policies and programs and enjoy public speaking.

CHANGE
A diverse group of individuals in recovery who share through public speaking the message that substance abuse crosses all lines of races, gender and cultures.

Surrender Group
LRADAC is seeking women in recovery who are willing to share their stories of hope and success with other women in treatment. Volunteers must have a genuine desire to help others necessary and daytime hours preferred.

Treatment

Treatment Services Volunteer
Volunteers are needed in the treatment areas listed below. Internships requiring supervision of an MSW or LC areavailable.

Women's Community Residence
Volunteers are needed to be friends and role models for women in recovery. Share skills and talents such as exercise, arts and crafts, personal grooming and any activity to build self-confidence.

Detoxification Unit
Volunteers assist on the detoxification unit with a variety of duties - weekdays or weekends. If a volunteer is recovering, he or she should have at least one year of sobriety.

Adolescent Treatment Services
Graduate-level volunteers and interns are needed to assist staff with treatment programs, including Drug Court, the Bridge and Adolescent Intensive Outpatient.

LRADAC is seeking women in recovery who are willing to share their stories of hope and success with other women in treatment. Volunteers must have a genuine desire to help others necessary and daytime hours preferred.

Other Volunteer Opportunities

Special Event Volunteer
Represent the agency at various community events and health fairs. Volunteers may be asked to distribute literature to the public and answer questions.

Business/Organization Volunteer
Volunteer either personnel or other services. Donations may include supplies, tickets to events, monetary funds, etc.
