Programs Overview
LRADAC, The Behavioral Health Center of the Midlands believes that addiction is a disease - a disease that is treatable. Through education, intervention and treatment, individuals who are affected by alcohol and other drugs, either directly or indirectly, may be helped.
Our Programs
A person may enter our programs as a self-referral or as a referral from a physician, the courts, family members, or other agencies. People seeking help will be admitted to treatment based upon their individualized need(s), which is determined by a screening or assessment.
Our programs are accredited by CARF, The Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission; licensed by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC); and certified by the South Carolina Department of Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Services (DAODAS). Prevention and treatment staff members are professionals who are licensed and/or credentialed or are in the process of being credentialed.
LRADAC is committed to the needs of an individual and believes that all persons have worth and dignity, regardless of their legal, emotional, social, or economic status. LRADAC does not discriminate against any person on the basis of sex, race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, age, sexual orientation, marital status or handicap. LRADAC offers translating services for those whose first language is not English.
Services are designed to meet the individual needs of each adolescent and adult as well as their families. Services include:
- Early intervention
- Screening/Assessment
- Individual and group counseling
- Intensive outpatient counseling
- Community housing
- Medical detoxification
Client Care
- Clients are treated with respect, dignity and compassion.
- LRADAC's staff is expected to maintain the highest standards of professionalism and ethical conduct.
- Clients are protected under Federal Confidentiality Regulations.
- Clients receive an assessment and their treatment is individualized based upon their needs.
- Clients have the right to be informed as to services available, to make choices and have input regarding services, and to refuse services.
- Interdisciplinary staffings are held to assist clinicians with client placement, continued stay, discharge and/or transfer from levels of care.
- Every effort is made to provide seamless services to and from various levels of care.
- The length of time a client is in treatment depends upon the individualized needs of the client.
- Clients are encouraged to actively participate in all phases of their treatment planning.
- Clients may participate in more than one level of care at a given time.
- Client engagement and retention are imperative to quality care.
- LRADAC strongly supports and recommends the twelve-step recovery principles for most clients.
- Clients have the right and opportunity to grieve/complain. Procedures are posted in each location.
- Priority admission is given to pregnant women, women with children, individuals with health-related concerns, and the involuntarily committed.
