If you are experiencing family, job, marital, or other problems because of your alcohol, and/or other drug use or a loved one's use, outpatient counseling can help. With the help of our counselors, you can learn new ways of coping with life, abstaining from alcohol and /or other drug use, improving relationships and making other needed changes. Available services include: alcohol, tobacco and other drug education, individual counseling, family counseling, group counseling, women's services, crisis counseling and recovery, sobriety, and relapse prevention groups. The Intensive Outpatient Program is offered for individuals and their families needing additional help in achieving recovery from addiction to alcohol and/or other drugs. This program allows a person to live at home and continue with work or school while receiving treatment services comparable to inpatient care. IOP includes education/awareness, group counseling, life skills, and introduction to support groups. Morning and evening IOP programs are offered in Richland and Lexington counties. Estimated Cost: At 4 sessions per week with 6-8 clients in attendance, $90 per session or $2,880 for an 8 week session. At 3 sessions per week with 8-12 clients in attendance, $90 per session or $2,160 per client for an 8 week session.

The Dual Recovery Intensive Outpatient Program is a collaboration between LRADAC and Lexington County Mental Health. It is located at Lexington County Community Mental Health Center in Lexington. The program is designed to specifically meet the needs of persons with chemical dependency and severe, persistent mental illness. Treatment consists of psychiatric evaluation and medication management; intensive case management; family education regarding co-occurring mental illnesses; and 9 hours of psychoeducational group therapy. Clients will increase understanding of their co-occurring mental disorders; how chemical dependency and other mental illnesses interact; symptoms management; medication compliance; and coping skills to avoid relapse. Anger management skills, communication skills and relationship concerns are also addressed. Referrals are accepted through LRADAC and Lexington County Mental Health Centers. Call (803) 733-1376.
