Detox Center

We offer a medically-monitored detoxification process for minimizing the short-term symptoms of withdrawal from drug dependence. Designed to prepare the patient to take the next step in ongoing treatment, it is often the beginning phase of treatment.

LRADAC's 16 bed, 24-hour Detox unit, staffed by licensed medical personnel, monitors the medical status of clients withdrawing from alcohol and other drugs and treats symptoms accordingly. Although the average stay in our Detox unit is five to seven days, the length of stay may vary depending on the client's medical status and drug or alcohol use and is determined by the Treatment Team, comprised of the Medical Director, Nurse, and Case Worker/Counselor.

The Detox unit serves men and women 18 years of age and older. Although we primarily serve residents of Lexington and Richland Counties, services are available to clients from other counties that do not have this resource available to them.

While on the unit, each client is seen by a case manager to determine plans for continuing the recovery process. Clients are also given the opportunity to participate in educational groups and are introduced to self-help groups. The case manager or clinical counselor may make referrals to other treatment services, such as in-patient or out-patient treatment, as appropriate for the client.

Admission to LRADAC's Medical Detoxification unit is initiated by referrals from other facilities, walk-ins,by self-referral from the client or by a family member. All clients are evaluated by a member of the medical staff prior to admission. LRADAC will bill Medicaid or other private insurance. Note: Clients should check with their private insurance to ensure that LRADAC is in their network.

Admissions can be made 24 hours a day, seven days a week. For a screening, please contact LRADAC.
