LRADAC Wins Safety & Transitional Duty Awards

June 18, 2014

COLUMBIA, SC – LRADAC was one of ten South Carolina healthcare organizations recognized as winners of a Palmetto Hospital Trust (PHT) Safety Award, and one of seven winners of a PHT Transitional Duty Award at the 12th Annual PHTS Safe Patient Handling and Mobility Conference & PHT Awards Luncheon.  Healthcare professionals from around the state attended the June 12, 2014 conference, which is a day-long event conducted by PHT Services, Ltd. (PHTS), a Columbia-based healthcare risk management services company. Safety Awards are presented annually to Palmetto Hospital Trust members with the lowest loss ratios in each of seven peer groups.  PHT Transitional Duty Awards recognize members with the best/highest ratio of transitional duty to lost work days, a measure of the effectiveness of the hospital’s return to work program.  LRADAC was a winner of both awards in the category of Disabilities & Special Needs Organizations. LRADAC’s Director of Operations, Kevin Grindstaff, stated, “We are committed to excellence in risk management and the general health and safety of our employees and clients in our facilities.”

LRADAC is the designated alcohol abuse and drug abuse authority for Lexington and Richland Counties of South Carolina. The public, not-for-profit agency offers a wide array of prevention, intervention and treatment programs in locations convenient to residents of both counties. The agency has a budget of approximately $10 million and serves more than 5,000 clients per year.
