Lexington One Community Coalition

The Lexington One Community Coalition (LOCC) is a partnership among parents, teachers, businesses, churches, civic groups and students. The group was founded in the spring of 2003 by members of the Lexington One School Board, Lexington County Sheriff's Department, LRADAC, Lexington Police Department and other concerned citizens in response to issues involving underage drinking and other high-risk behaviors among young people in the district.

The vision of the LOCC reads: "The vision of the Lexington One Community Coalition is a caring community where our youth are substance free and are safe, healthy and able to reach their full potential."

The mission of the LOCC states: "Lexington One Community Coalition’s mission is to empower each young person, family and member of our community to prevent underage use of and access to alcohol, tobacco and other drugs through collaboration, education and awareness."

Membership in the LOCC is open to anyone, and the group encourages participation of many different groups in the community. For more information about the coalition, please call (803) 726-9301 or email locc@lradac.org.
