Adult HIV Services

Treatment

LRADAC has a memorandum of agreement with the Palmetto Health District and is a member organization of the Midlands Care Consortium, a collaboration of agencies dedicated to providing medical, psychiatric, social services, housing and medical case management services to HIV+ individuals in the Midlands to ensure a seamless continuum of care for these individuals.

All LRADAC clients are offered free testing for HIV and other STDs at any stage of their treatment, from Detox through aftercare.

Certified Addictions providers specializing in the needs of HIV infected individuals offer assessment, brief therapy and referral services at the Midlands Care Consortium (HIV) Clinic and in the Palmetto Health system to men and women who are HIV+ and who have had a past or present problem with alcohol and drugs, or who are at risk for developing an addiction disorder.

Individual counseling is available.

Prevention

Adult Double Jeopardy Program

The Double Jeopardy HIV/STD Prevention Program assists adult recovering substance abusers in reducing the behaviors that put them at high risk for HIV/STD infection. Double Jeopardy uses peer educators trained in HIV prevention to provide peer education to deliver information about the awareness of HIV infection risk, ways to reduce high risk behaviors, and ways to increase safe sex behaviors.
